Hey, this is the blog dedicated to Tumblr network service.
Tumblr is a microblogging platform and social network website, that was owned and operated by Tumblr, inc. Emphersizing the ease of its use, the service allows users to post content to a short-form blog called a "tumblelog". Users can follow other user's blogs as well as make them private. The service was launched on April 27, 2007 by David Karp. Within only two weeks the service became very popular and had about 75,000 users. Some time later the company launched their official Iphone application. The service became aviable for BlackBerry smartphones on April 17, 2010 via a Mobelux application in the BlackBerry Application World. On December 5, 2010 Tumblr was inaccessiable for 47 hours due to maintenence errors.
As the service describes itsself: "This is the easiest way to blog". Indeed, the interface is intuitively simple and new users can learn how to use Tumblr in a few minutes. Blogs can include different types of information.
This can be texts, quotations, photoes, links, chats, audio and video files.
On Fabruary 27, 2012, the number of Tumblr users was about 46,2 million blogs and more than 18 billion posts. In september 2011 the number of views per month was 13 billion. As on the July 2010, the site receives 25,000 new users each day and as of September 2011, 40 million posts are created on the site every day. This service is most popular with the teen and college-aged users segments. 50 percent of Tumblr's visitors base is under the age of 25.

Ok, we'll be checking back here to learn more about Tumblr. I used it several years ago but haven't for a long time.
